CARROLL & CLINTON COUNTIES, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E & B Paving LLC will begin an $8.3 million resurfacing contract on U.S. 421 between State Road 26 and State Road 18 on or after Monday, June 13. Work on this resurfacing contract will be conducted in three phases and will be ongoing through mid-November.
U.S. 421 will be closed to thru traffic between Cree St and C.R. 100 S through early September for phase one. Local traffic will be able to access homes and businesses in the area, but thru traffic should seek an alternate route. The official detour will follow State Road 26, State Road 75 and State Road 18.
There will also be lane closures on U.S. 421 through Rossville when resurfacing is occurring in that area. Flaggers will direct traffic, and lane closures will be restricted to daytime hours. Work in this area should wrap up in mid-August.
INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
